Guidebook on Crime and Violence Prevention Through Community Design
The Local Government Commission – in partnership with the California Department of Public Health, Public Health Institute, Institute for Local Government, and Prevention Institute – is finalizing a guidebook to help planners, public works officials, local elected leaders, urban designers and architects, and developers plan, design, build, operate and maintain safer buildings, streets and other public spaces and neighborhoods. The new guidebook is also intended to aid public health professionals and community-based organizations interested in crime and violence prevention strategies through community design.
